Destination Localization: Localize Links, Images, and PDFs on Your Multilingual Website

Translation alone isn’t enough. Destination Localization sends every link, image, and PDF on your translated pages to the right language, so visitors stay engaged.

You’ve translated your site, and that’s a smart move: 40% of consumers won’t buy from a website that isn’t in their language. But translation alone doesn’t create a seamless, localized experience for your multilingual visitors.

Picture this: a visitor selects French on your homepage. They click through to Pricing and land on the English page. They switch languages again. Then they click “Where to buy” and end up on your US distributor’s site instead of your French partner’s. Later, they download a product brochure, and it’s in English.

Translated pages don’t automatically send people to the right place, and every wrong destination adds friction. If visitors have to re-select their language on every page, you’re testing their patience. If you give them a key document they can’t read, you risk losing them entirely.

Destination Localization sends every link on a translated page to the right page or PDF, so multilingual visitors stay engaged and you don’t leave conversions on the table.

What is Destination Localization?

Destination Localization (sometimes called link localization or link rewriting) lets you change where links lead on translated pages. That way you can send Spanish visitors to Spanish pages, route users to a local partner website, or direct visitors to the right regional destination.

How it works:

In Bablic, you manage destinations with rules, with little developer help needed. Each rule matches links by:

  • URLs that start with a specific value
  • URLs that contain specific text
  • Regex, for advanced matching

For example, one rule can send every link starting with /support to /es/soporte for Spanish visitors.

You can apply each rule to one language, several languages, or every language in your project. You can also choose whether it applies to your Production domain, Staging domain, or all domains.

That gives marketing and localization teams more control without requiring manual project configuration every time a link changes.

Localize images, PDFs, and other files

Rules work for assets, too. With Bablic, you’re able to swap an English image, brochure, or PDF for its localized version, so visitors receive content that matches the language of the page.

Going this extra step to localize the details secures trust with potential consumers, supports the ease of their experience, and makes them feel at home on your site.

Manage rules at scale

Bablic includes inline editing, built-in examples, and bulk delete tools. And if you need to add hundreds of rules? You can do them all at once with a CSV file.
